Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and More!

Alright so yesterday Square Enix made some big announcements for the Final Fantasy VII Remake series. First is the Intergrade version or ultimate experience, which is basically the upgrade to PS5. But wait there is more! Square Enix is also releasing two new mobile games by 2022 Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis and Final Fantasy VII First Soldier.So let’s dive in what are the main enhancements? Does it really elevate the gameplay that much? Will it cost that much? The short answer is yes you will be getting 60 FPS, It will be free to those who own the PS4 version. It also has brand new episode with everyone’s favorite Ninja, Yuffie! Here below is the PS5 reveal trailer!

 Here is a bigger breakdown from Square of what is being enhanced!

1. What are the enhancements?

Square Enix is promising graphic, gameplay and system enhancements with the PS5 version. This is including improved textures, lightings, and background environments. The all new “Graphics Mode” will let you immerse yourself inside the new Visual Features in 4k and HDR.

The “Performance Mode” prioritizes the 60 FPS for smooth gameplay. Combining this with the DualSense PS5 controller’s haptic feedback to immerse yourself further into battles like never before.

Another new feature is “Photo Mode” with is an easier way to capture your favorite moments and screenshots!

2. What about Final Fantasy VII Remake on PS4?

The Intergrade version is completely independent of the PS4 version. Meaning if you didn’t have it on PS4 that’s ok you can get it still. Now if you do already own the PS4 version you can get the free  enhancement update.

Keep in mind if your copy is physical you will need to have the physical version of PS5. The ones upgrading from the PS4 version will need to buy the Yuffie Episode separately.

3. What’s up with this new episode?

The new episode is brand-new adventure featuring Yuffie Kisaragi. The Ninja from Wutai, as she sneaks into Midgar and and hatches a plan with Avalanche to steal materia (big surprise). If you played through the remake you would have heard hints of Wutai and Avalanche.

The new episode will enhance the story, and introduce new character, and expanded gameplay and combat additions. This is a PS5 exclusive at this time!

4. Will Save Data carry over?!?!

Square Enix is promising your save data to carry over with an update patch for the PS4 version. You of course will need an Internet connection to upload the data and carry it over. However, you don’t have to worry about starting over!

5. Different versions of Final Fantasy?

There will be three different versions the Physical, Digital Stand Edition, and Digital Deluxe Version from the PlayStation Store. The deluxe version come with a digital art book with concept and promotional art for those who are interested.

6. What are these mobile games?

Well the first one is Final Fantasy VII The First Soldier which will be a battle royal game. Set before Shinra established the elite SOLDIER unit. Where you will play as a Soldier candidate as the organization is being founded!

The next one is Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. This is going to be a chapter-structured single playter game that covers the FFVII timeline as a whole including events from the original game. So think of it like a FF& Pocket Edition!

FF7 The First SOLDIER is due out in 2021 while Ever Crisis should release sometime in 2022.
